Former Maricopa County Sheriff and anti-illegal immigration crusader Joe Arpaio was recently convicted of contempt of court for defying an order to cease traffic stops aimed at cracking down on illegal aliens near the U.S.-Mexico border.
Many of Sheriff Joe’s supporters believe that the prosecution – which began under the Obama Administration – was a politically-motivated witch hunt and are pushing for President Trump to pardon him. However, Democrats have criticized Arpaio’s actions as bigoted and racist.
As part of Great American Daily’s ongoing coverage of the hot-button issue of illegal immigration, we would like to know your opinion. Was Sheriff Joe’s crackdown on illegal immigration justified and therefore worthier of a presidential pardon? Or should his conviction stand?
