Spurred on by conflict over border wall funding between President Trump and Democrats in Congress, the partial federal government shutdown continues with apparently no easy resolution in sight.

Both President Trump and the Democrats appear to be digging in their heels.

President Trump reportedly told Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democrats that “he’d keep the government closed for a very long period of time, months or even years.”

Conversely, the new Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi jokingly told reporters she’d offer President Trump one dollar to fund the desperately-needed wall on our dangerously unprotected border with Mexico.
