Newly-elected Senator, twice-failed presidential candidate, and notorious RINO Mitt Romney has sparked controversy with a scathing op-ed published in the Washington Post attacking President Trump, claiming he “has not risen to the mantle of the office.”

The op-ed is the latest attack on President Trump from Romney, who fought-- and failed -- to prevent Trump from securing the Republican nomination in the 2016 election.

Democrats and the liberal media -- who endlessly mocked and ridiculed Romney when he was running for president -- celebrated the op-ed. Republicans, however, were obviously not thrilled.

Conservative Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) criticized Romney on Twitter, saying "Like other Big Government Republicans who never liked Reagan, Mitt Romney wants to signal how virtuous he is in comparison to the President. Well, I’m most concerned and pleased with the actual conservative reform agenda @realDonaldTrump has achieved.”

Even Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, who is Romney’s niece, blasted the op-ed as “disappointing and unproductive.”

Romney’s renewed attacks on President Trump have raised speculation that he might run for president again, even perhaps challenging Trump for his nomination.

As Great American Daily continues our coverage of the Trump Administration and current events, we are gathering the public’s opinion in order to provide you with the most informed and relevant news and analysis.

Can Republicans trust Mitt Romney to support their conservative ideals and President Trump, or should they be wary of his Big Government ways and personal ambition?
